A Speech Delivered by Mark A. Thomey, LoS BoD
Friday, 5 May 2006 AD, Montgomery, Alabama CSA

Citizens of Dixie!

I stand before you today to talk to you not as an 'american', but as a Southerner. And I wish to direct my remarks toward a Southern problem - immigration; both legal and illegal. Some of you may be wondering why I have chosen to frame my argument this way. Allow me to explain.

First, I assert that we must no longer think of ourselves as 'americans', but rather as Southerners, for the simple reason that the definition of an 'american', as popularly expounded by our imperial masters in Washington, D. C. and their criminal accomplices in the media, has become completely detached from its historical meaning and rendered void. To our ruling elites, an 'american' is a nameless, faceless, any-man, who can be from anywhere, profess any faith, and espouse any species of cultural, social, economic, or political philosophies. We Southerners are NONE of that! We are a distinct and unique group of people, we have occupied this beautiful region that we affectionately call Dixie for 400 years, we profess faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, who alone is the light and salvation of the world, and we adhere to traditional and conservative principles about society, economics and politics.

Second, I allege that this immigrant invasion is a Southern problem, not an 'american' problem. For if one chooses to believe not only the immigration statistics cited in contemporary news articles, but also one's own two eyes, then it becomes obvious to all but the village idiot that the primary target of this invasion is Dixie. The fastest growing immigrant populations are in Texas, Arkansas, Georgia, and North Carolina - NOT New York, Illinois, Pennsylvania, or Massachusetts!! Perhaps this is one explanation as to why the yankee government does nothing about this growing menace. Reconstruction marches on!!

In the minds of the radical, new world order types, all arguments about immigration, either for or against, revolve around money. Because money is all that matters to them, they will say that any opposition to uncontrolled, third-world immigration that is based upon culture, language, ethnicity, or patriotism is, 'illegitimate' or 'not worthy of consideration'. They do this, of course, to paint us with the tar-brush of racism or xenophobia. By merely calling us these ugly names, our enemies expect us to render the predictable, Pavlovian reactions of cowering in fear and shame and ceasing to argue with them. Our reply should be, 'Sticks and stones'. Your names don't scare us, so prepare for battle. The motto of the sovereign State of Alabama, which would be a great motto for all of Dixie, is - Audemus juris nostra defendere - we dare to defend our rights. Dare, my friends, to defend our rights, our people, our culture, and our way of life not just to exist here, but to remain dominant here - in our own country.

Their assertion of the illegitimacy of factors such as ethnicity and culture (of which language is an integral part) and feelings of true patriotism (to be distinguished from the brainless nationalism which today masquerades as patriotism) is based in an egalitarian, multi-culturalist world view. I would submit to you, my friends, that the sum total of mankind's civilised experience explodes that world view and exposes it for the ridiculous sham that it is. Throughout history, men have collected themselves into communities, States, and nations based upon those very criteria. It is the created order of things for men to associate themselves based upon ethnicity, culture, and religion. It is the commonality of those things from which natural, healthy, organic communities arise, develop, and flourish. History has also shown that, in every civilisation which abandoned those principles, turmoil and destruction soon followed.

With the exception of those who do not fully comprehend the Christian faith, or those who have a disdain for it, there is no contradiction to be found in, 'loving your neighbour', while at the same time keeping him on his side of the fence. It has been the teaching of the Church, since the days of the early Church Fathers, that every country has a right to its existence, its laws, its defence, and its protection from intruders. I can respect my neighbour's rights, treat him charitably, and act lawfully towards him without being his bosom buddy, asking him to live under my roof, or marry my daughter. In fact, the Scriptures are replete with examples of Christians being instructed NOT to associate with those who don't believe as they do. Evangelise them, yes, but as Christ himself said, if they refuse to believe, shake their dust from you feet and move on. And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and do not keep company with him; Shall two walk together except they be agreed?; They and every beast according to its kind, and all the cattle in their kind, and every thing that moveth upon the earth according to its kind, and every fowl according to its kind, etc. These are examples of true diversity, as opposed to the manufactured, cultural-marxist kind we suffer today. The latter is not diversity at all, for it does not show equal respect and deference to all cultures (like ours - Southern). It is merely a political power play that sets groups at odds with one another and thrusts them into an endless cycle of gaining and holding power over the others with whom they contend. This is at odds with the Christian view that different groups can be good neighbours, treat one another righteously, and conduct commerce without mixing themselves into a 'melting pot' of constant bickering, suspicion, and hatred.

Finally, there is the patriotic argument against immigration. Our English word, 'patriotism' derives from the Latin word, 'patria', which means native land; and an associated word, 'patrius', which means an inheritance from one's father. With this in mind, let us refer to the preamble of the federal constitution. It states that the union was being formed, among other things, to, 'secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity'. This begs the questions of: Who is, 'ourselves', and what is meant by their, 'Posterity'? As much as some hate to admit it, 'ourselves' was white, western European, Christian men - men who sprang from a civilisation capable of understanding, establishing, and preserving their liberty through self-government.

Their, 'Posterity', if the word has any genetic and/or ethnic meaning, necessarily means their own offspring, or immigrants who were LIKE THEM culturally, socially, and politically. The specious argument of the, 'but America was built by immigrants' crowd overlooks, or purposely buries, the salient fact that the two major waves of immigrants who helped, 'build America' were from white, western European, Christian cultures and countries. It also glosses over the fact that immigration laws then were VERY restrictive as to the number and kind of folks allowed to come into the country. Those earlier generations were not crippled and duped by the foolish notion that every people and culture is the same and that they should all be welcomed with open arms and open pocketbooks. Those waves of immigrants arrived having a great deal in common with the culture that was already established here, and they were willing to blend in, adopt it as their own, and be a part of it. While Southern culture is a mixture of, and has enjoyed contributions from, different racial groups, they have all exhibited a consistent course of action throughout our history - namely, they have all adopted, and many times defended, the white, western European, Christian civilisation that is the heart and soul of the South's greatness and stability. The vast majority of those immigrants who come here today don't have much, if ANYTHING, in common with the white, western European, Christian culture here. Additionally, thanks to the multi-culturalists who seem to dominate the media and government, those people come here NOT to blend in, NOT to adopt and defend Southern civilisation, but to bring their pagan ways and old grievances, and then demand special treatment from, and dominance over, the native Southern populace.

It is a foolish and doomed country that allows the barbarians to get inside the gates before mounting a defence. If the rest of the so-called united States is bent on that course, then out of a patriotic love for my country, Dixie, her people and her civilisation, I, along with the League of the South, will continue to advocate for the cultural, social, economic, and political independence of the South from such a corrupt and idiotic regime. The South still possesses a remnant of the greatness of white, western European, Christian civilisation, and I am resolved that it is worth preserving and perpetuating. Southern independence, and by that I mean our own free and separate republic of Southern States, is the only course that offers to secure the blessings of liberty to us and our posterity. I have one more Latin motto that I'd like to share with you, and I hope you'll take it to heart. It's based on an oldie, but a goodie. Simply stated it is: Meridies Resurgabit - the South shall rise again!! Join me in the fight. For if we fight, we can win, and when we win, then we'll have something that Southerners haven't had since 1865 - a country of our own. Thank you for your attention, and may God save the South!!
